Leftowers of Holly beach in Lousiana 9 months after hurricane Katrina
Taking your camera to the beach you are most certainly thinking of beautiful bodies in bikini. O.k You might be thinking about your family and the kids playing in the sand. My thought was to get a nice rest on beach in a small beach town in the state of Louisiana and get the fealing for the small towns that where to be our primal destinations in this trip. It was not to be.
I was met with horror and a shock. This was nine months after hurricane Katarina struck in the area and there was nothing left of this small town. It was empty. Nothing, except a single trailer and this sign and flag. This experience was going to affect a big part of what was to come in the first leg of our journe. It also had a huge impact on my photography and my way of seeing. How do you take pictures of nothing?
